Volunteer for District Assembly Hiv/aids Education in Ghana

This placement need volunteers to assist in spreading information about HIV/AIDS to the people of Swedru and the surrounding villages. This placement is located at 65 kms from Accra which is the capital city of Ghana. District capital of Agona. Urban area with good hotels, restaurants, 5 internet cafes, hospital and easy access to transportation to all major cities in Ghana.
Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-
Nurse Health & Hygiene Training HIV/AIDS Awareness Training Public Health
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-
To join up with a number of different NGO’s in the Swedru community that are targeting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Create HIV/AIDS workshop for various age groups. Participate in school outreach programs where volunteers will give presentations to students about HIV/AIDS. Visit members in the community who are HIV positive to bring medical supplies, counselling and sometimes food.
Other tasks that you may be requested to preform outside of your core duties: Provide education on water and sanitation to the community people and work on awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS and other sanitation problem.
